Kresnadi’s grandchildren (minus Maryam) are sleeping over our house today, as they’re all still on holiday. Today I took them watching ‘Ngenest’ movie (which is hilarious, btw), and had dinner together. Hope they can be still close like this when they grow up.

Ashar at Masjid Merah Panjunan
Alhamdulillah, we got a chance to do our Sholat Ashar in Masjid Merah Panjunan (red mosque), Cirebon. The mosque was built in 1480 by Syarif Abdurahman, is famously known for its red brick wall, and showcasing the influence of China, European, Javanese culture. Here are some pictures from the unique mosque:
Batik Shopping!
Cirebon is famously known for its bright, vivid colored Batik, especially its Mega Mendung pattern. We’re doing Batik stores hopping and shopping today in Trusmi area, and got some good buys. Everybody’s happy! (Except the kids ☺️)
Brunch at Nasi Jamblang Bu Nur
It’s a bit early for lunch, but after visiting Kasepuhan we tried the famous Nasi Jamblang Bu Nur. It serves a lot of traditional Indonesian dishes in ‘jamblang’ leaves. I found it taste great, especially the tempe (fried soybean cake) and the sambal (chili sauce).
Visiting Kasepuhan Cirebon
Since we’re already in Cirebon, we visit Kasepuhan Cirebon. It’s the oldest sultan’s palace here. Although not as well maintained and colossal as Keraton Jogja for example, but we found quite many interesting spots, hence took lots of pictures inside 🙂
