Dawet, Perfect Dessert to Culinary Tour

While waiting outside the Orion Mandarijn cake store in Solo, I and Aya saw ‘Es Dawet’ seller and decided to try one. And It was great! What a perfect dessert to end our Solo culinary experience.

The Popular Pecel Solo

For our breakfast this morning, we went to ‘Pecel Solo’ the popular restaurant serving not only ‘sego pecel’ as its specialty, but alo several other popular javanese dishes such as ‘brongkos’, ‘garang asem’ or ‘rawon’. The unique setting of the restaurant complements the taste of culinary heritage.

‘Mbecak’ in Solo

Even though we have our rented car ready to take us go this morning, Rafif requested us to take the ‘Becak’ instead. And his request was justified, this traditional man-powered transportation is still a joy to ride.

Soto Seger Mbok Giyem

When you’re in Solo, there are so many culinary places you can try. From vintage to modern taste, featuring unique Javanese delicacies. We opted to the vintage one though, just like this one, the excellent ‘Soto Seger Mbok Giyem’. Very packed in weekend, do come early, as at lunch time, sometimes they’re sold out!

Lunch at Timlo Sastro

Came back from Sangiran, we had our lunch in Timlo Sastro restaurant, serving the special Solo dishes: Timlo. Vintage culinary all the way!
