While for Jews, Saturday is ‘Sabbatical Day’, when they do nothing than to stay at home and contemplate, for the moslems in Jerusalem, the day is known as ‘market day’. They have a so-called ‘Grand Bazaar’ at the old town, in Damascus Gate.
I and Elok checked it out, and while there are not much interesting stuffs to buy there (apparently it’s a market to sell mainly modern clothes, foods and stuffs), we met couple of nice moslem Palestinians who shared story of their lives, and also gave me a cup of arabic coffee for free! Love this part of the city and their people. May Allah bless them always. Syukron!
