Beijing, We’re (28 Years) in Love

One thing I’m always grateful for at night, no matter how hard the day has been, is finding someone I love sleeping beside me.

While whispering “Alhamdulillah,” I reach for her hand. And although she’s already asleep, she always holds mine back. Suddenly, my heart feels bigger, and life seems lighter.

It’s been 28 years since we began this journey together. And we’re blessed to finally bring back our annual couple trip, a little tradition we had missed for the past two years.

This time, Beijing.

We wandered through the magnificent Temple of Heaven, walked across the historic Tiananmen Square, and lost ourselves in the grandeur of the Forbidden City. Places that have witnessed centuries of history, while we quietly celebrated our own little history of 28 years.

After 28 years, we’ve grown older, perhaps a little wiser, and certainly not without our share of ups and downs. But one thing remains beautifully unchanged: at the end of every day, it’s still her hand I want to hold.

Alhamdulillah for 28 years. I love you Elok, still and always. Here for many more journeys we hope to share. Wander together, forever ❤️

Happy 28th anniversary to us. ❤️
