Staying at ‘The Grange’

The Grange and the neighborhood in Subiaco

This time around in Perth, we opted to stay in Air BNB property. After looking at various offerings in Air BNB, I and Elok decided to choose ‘The Grange’ – a rather old house in Subiaco area.

Despite the early confusion on how to turn on the heater and to locate house’s amenities, we managed to settled down and started to enjoy the house.

As the old house, although you can see some of the furnitures and corners of the house have seen the better days, the house has its charm. It feels warm and cozy, particularly in the kitchen and TV lounge area, where we spend the time most. Each room also has its heater, and bed heating blankets, which really help us in this kind of chilly winter that Perth is having right now.

It has quite complete amenities. Especially in the kitchen. We love to spend time cooking and chillin in the kitchen table. It also has Dolce Gusto coffee machine, which surprisingly still has couple of capsules left. Probably from the previous tenants. But we quickly ran to supermarket to replenish the supply. So it keeps the ammunition to spend great family time together – which we sometimes lost when we’re at home.

TV Lounge and kitchen, the place we spend most of our time here

The area of the house itself, Subiaco, is quite an upscale residence complex. Its neighborhood streets and gardens are well maintained. It’s also only minutes to Kings Park and Perth CBD. Well, Perth itself is not a huge city. But still, location is premium. I can’t wait to see around the neighborhood when I have time for morning jog later.

All in all, we’re pretty happy with our rental so far. Hope it can house us finely until we leave this Swan River city.
