Built on Hope

The aftermath of last night’s game

I recorded video of myself watching the minutes of injury time last night. Hoping (and believing) we’ll come back with last minutes goal, just like we’ve done before. Time after time.

But it wasn’t to be. I held my head in disgust, realizing this is the end of our worst season ever.

Lowest position in the league. No silverware. Team with such inconsistent performance, and have never found the playing style we’ve been hoping to embrace since the appointment of Amorim.

All facts, stats and results point to one conclusion: we’re getting worse.

But strangely, I still sense a feel of hope. To this Coach. To this club. Maybe it’s the positivity in me, but I certainly believe the Coach is doing the right thing. He sets up the standard. He instills the right values. Result may not there yet. But I refuse to give up this hope now. Hopefully, the Board backs him in the summer, he gets the players suitable to his playing style, and we go again on August.

Besides, as what we heard from Andor TV series and Rogue One: “Rebellion is built on hope” – hope will take us back to glory. GGMU.
