The “cattle ban” is on the headline of today’s paper in Australia. The controversies around live cow export which was reportedly as “slaughtered brutally” in Indonesia has hit Aussies more than Indonesians.
It is reported that the farmers cost to ship the cattle to other parts of Australia is three times more than shipping it to Indonesia. And furthermore, beef meat price has fallen to 30% due to over supply. Now the farmers demand government to lift the ban, as they see it is “too much” and it does not portray the whole picture of Australian live cow export industry. And ultimately, it hits the farmers lives and workers in the industry surrounding badly.
