It started from the Manchester United fans account tweet (@UtdDistrict) which tickled me: “How do you rate Ten Hag first season?”
I pondered a bit. But since it’s matters close to my heart, I quickly rated him and listed the (+) and (-) of Ten Hag’s first season.
To my surprise, my post got hundreds of likes and retweets from fellow Manchester United fans. Most of them said it’s fair, on point and accurate.
Well, of course, as it’s internet jungle, there’s also dimwits who just bashed my tweet without strong argument.
Here’s my tweet:
Rating: 7/10
The Positives:
- (+) Achieved season objectives: Top 4 and silverware
- (+) Instill culture of discipline which were lacking under previous manager
- (+) Handled CR7 situation really well. Fair, firm and objective.
- (+) Game management and subs were spot on most of the times
- (+) Made use of available players (which is limited) quite well.
The Negatives:
- (-) The blow out losses were embarassing
- (-) Could’ve used young players more, eg Pelistri.
- (-) Still has not seen him put a real stamp on our team style. Can’t control the game enough.
- (-) Away form was patchy
All in all, fully support him for next season. We’re on right track. Bring on new owner, we’ll be challenging for title. GGMU. Bald is best.
