Rest Day in Te Anau

Posed with rainbow in rainy Te Anau

What supposedly a transit become a rest day for us in Te Anau.

The worsening weather forecast in Milford Sound, increases the chance of avalanche. Hence the road is closed by the NZ authority.

As the group decided to still go to Milford Sound, we had no option but waiting for the weather to improve.

Luckily our camp is full of facilities. Hence, we used this “rest day” with plenty of activities.

In the evening, finally we had our cooking and dinner time together. Such a great activity, as we had great time in the preparation and eating them. Built the camaraderie within and amongst the family.

Te Anau is no slouch either as little town. They have big supermarket, delicious pie stall, and great restaurant and cafes. We used the time to stock our campervan supplies and enjoyed slow time living here, although the weather was not too friendly.

In the end, by accident, we realized that we need this rest day more than what we realized. Blessings in disguise.
