
For the first time in six years, I played football again. Playing with office (much younger) colleagues, I was looking forward to this match. I thought I would be competitive, as I have built up my strength and fitness for the past few years through running, cycling and gym sessions.
Not a chance. I was struggling, and failed to convert at least three good chances. The muscle and brain coordination needs a lot of rework 😅
But at least my knee and feet held strong. And I didn’t feel too tired. It’s only my back felt a bit stiff, which is understandable.
What a welcome return to a sport I used to play week in, week out. Looking forward for another kick about sessions with these chaps. GGMU 😉
