The Football Pitch at Jakarta Highland Gathering

This is the football pitch we use to play for 6-a-side competition. Located at the centre field of the event, we shared the pitch with other sports events such as rugbies, and traditional ‘heavies’ throw. You can see at the background corporate sponsors tents which sell foods, drinks and promotional stuffs.

Jakarta Highland Gathering 2011

My office (Royal Bank of Scotland) sponsors the annual Jakarta Highland Gathering event. An event which features traditional highland (Scottish, Irish, English) games and customs. One of them is Scottish bagpipe music competition, as played by one of the contestant from Malaysia here. I don’t know how to appreciate such music, but interesting stuffs nonetheless.

Matah Ati: Extraordinary Legacy!

Tonight I and Elok watch “Matah Ati”, an opera performance featuring traditional javanese dance performance packed in modern lighting and sound effect. Choreographed by Jay Subiyakto, the whole performance was extraordinary, showing us the proof that traditional javanese dance can live and strive in new millennium, preserving legacy for the current group of audience.
