We decided to “go local” for today’s Friday prayer. “Go local” means walking to the nearest mosque (at Sharifa Al Attar Mosque مسجد شريفة العطار) following the locals. It was just 750 meters walking distance from our hotel, but given the high temperature at noon, it felt like 2 kms walk 😅.
But Alhamdulillah, the mosque is nice and fully air conditioned here, so it did help to wipe our fatigue.
And the great thing about Islam is, wherever you come and pray in mosque all around the world, you’ll find the same prayers and you can follow all the rituals, as if you were at home. Well, only the ‘khutbah’ (preaching) was delivered in Arabic. But in the end of Friday prayer, they actually re-told the khutbah in English. So prayers like me and Rafif would understand the meanings of the khutbah. Very nice indeed. Alhamdulillah.
